ohhh it's a lady's hat, of course! Slikpnot is the Spanish word for Slipknot, a popular mariachi / salsa band in Bolivia Farming with a view
Because of the election situation in La Paz, I couldn't go on any treks or drink beer, so I left for the next closest city that was reachable without a road block. It just happened to be Copacabana again... Back in paradise, I did a 19km hike from Copacabana to Yampupata, the town closest to Isla del Sol. Looking back to Copacabana.
More futbol fields in the middle of nowhere... When I got to Yampupata, I found this guy to row me across to the island. He was 74 years old, and so after a 19km hike, I rowed into the wind for an hour at 4000m. He honored me with the title of marinero. Off he goes...
Looking from the island back to Yampupata. My rowboat friend is a spec in the middle of the two. Trucha del Diablo, Devil's Trout! The trout's view of the sunset
Getting ready to bike the death road or World's Most Dangerous Road, which connects La Paz to Coroico... La Cumbre, Bolivia, 4600m. Fellow death-roaders from Holland... I wowed them with my Dutch vocab which consists only of the word "swaffling"... google it, or maybe don't... Starting with the paved section before the death road...
