Santa and his elves You can see chairs and a stage set up in the upper left. I missed the show while on standby at the airport, trying to get home for Christmas. At the base of this building is an entire block of hot dog stands. "Completos" they call them, and for $2.50 you can get two and a beer. They are served with diced tomatoes, guacamole, and about half a jar of mayonnaise.
Looove this market in Santiago. One of those important looking buildings you don't bother learning about when your trip is in injury time and you're just trying to get a ticket home for Christmas! La Moneda, Santiago
Can you find me? Break on through to the other side of the Moneda
Fuentes Mote de huesillo, possibly the most refreshing drink in the universe. Complete with aged hairy orange chunks and oat-type things. The power of smog - Can you spot the Andes?
After trying to fly standby and not finding a seat on day 1, at least there were a few more views to see... Another of Pablo Neruda's houses... 2 out of 3, not bad! Villa Grimaldi, the sight of a secret prison and torture center during the coup and dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. The one that the US supported in the fight against evil socialism...
